COURSE HOMEWORK AND PROJECTS:
The course homework and projects represent a significant part of the course. All but the first project will be done as independent study, with no specific lab time assigned. The first project will involve use of the model yarder during the scheduled lab period for the course. The software, LOGGERPC 4.2, is available for installation on your own systems through a link to the US Forest Service, Region 6 web site as shown below. The written labs will involve independent study of cable operations through use of the model yarder, cable load analysis, and in planning for cable logging operations.

PROJECTS AND HOMEWORK ARE DUE BY 5:00 PM ON THE STATED DUE DATE. POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FOR LATENESS AT THE RATE OF 10% PER DAY FOR EACH DAY THE PROJECT IS LATE. POINTS CAN ALSO BE DEDUCTED FOR POOR ENGLISH AND ORGANIZATION.
