Graduate Research and  Assistantships

Graduate students working with the dry kilnThe forest products industry has become increasingly dynamic. New products and technologies and increased global activity have resulted in a strong and growing demand for college graduates with expertise in all areas related to forest products.  The number of job opportunities available to graduates in forest products consistently outstrips the number of graduates available. As a result, most forest products graduates have multiple offers for employment upon graduation.

Theses and abstracts from former graduate students are available here.

Research Assistantships.
We have numerous M.S. and Ph.D. assistantships available in all of the research areas.  Fetcing Arch removing slash and underbrush for fuel reduction for forest fires. Qualified individuals receive a stipend and an out-of-state tuition fee waiver. In addition to the University of Idaho courses and laboratory facilities, graduate students have access to Washington State University courses and facilities. Washington State University is located only 8 miles from the University of Idaho and shuttle service is available.
