The Taylor Visiting Professional Program assisted in travel expenses to bring Dr. Baxter's stream ecology class to the field station in the spring of 2005.  Students were provided an ideal setting to teach the natural history of streams.  

Dr. Baxter says, "Good teaching is often about creating the right environment for learning to occur.  Taylor Ranch provides an ideal setting to teach the natural history of streams, while turning over rocks, hiking along the river, or during our underwater surveys.  Classes engage in problem-solving and deep-thinking required to tackle some of the most advanced methods of concepts in the field of natural resources."
