Welcome to ExploringNatural Resources (NR 101)
Future Students: This class is designed to expose incoming freshmen to the different majors and career paths within the College of Natural Resources. NR 101 meets only for the first half of the semester.
This year, NR 101 is built around a natural resource theme: compass, map and GIS use. Orienteering skills are important to all CNR majors and are important to any future natural resource employment.
The class is divided into 4 sections, each with two instructors, an undergraduate TA and 25-30 students. This class has 4 field trips, but all sections will meet together as one class on 3 different Thursdays. On all other Thursdays, there will be field trips, which rotate with different sections, so everyone will have a chance to experience the same things. Please dress appropriately for the "rain or shine" field trips and absolutely no "flip flops"! The field trips are always Thursdays, 2:30-5:20. Please refer to the NR 101 syllabus (link below) for details on these trips and other important information.
This class is fun!
