GENERAL ADVISING INFORMATION

Welcome to our advising web page. The purpose of advising is to provide consistent and accurate advising support to help students achieve their academic and career goals.  Carrie Barron is the advisor for all freshmen, sophomore, and new transfer students in the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.  Please contact Carrie Barron with any questions unanswered below.

As the primary contact for students in the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Carrie will advise you about course selection; disseminate information about the department, college, and university; and direct you to various resources around campus.  Advising also includes assisting you with career planning decisions, helping you improve your study and time management skills, and other problem solving techniques.

Beginning your Junior year, you will be assigned a faculty advisor who will provide you with academic and career advising. Advisors use curriculum requirement check sheets to help plan your course work.

• Students currently enrolled at the University of Idaho should visit the Continuing Student Advising Page.

• Students transferring from other colleges/universities should check the Transfer Student Page for information on how their courses will transfer into the fish and wildlife program, etc.
