Faculty research interests include parks, wilderness, and protected areas policy, planning, management; recreation and tourism planning; conservation history; urban and community forestry; environmental interpretation and communication; human dimensions of ecosystem management; resource-based tourism and ecotourism; impacts and market analysis; wild and scenic river management; recreation and tourism behavior; conflict resolution, social science research methods and design; survey research; and land trusts and conservation easements.
The University of Idaho's Wilderness Research Center (WRC)is an university wide center that facilitates wilderness research, teaching and service activities campus wide. The WRC is affiliated with the RRT department. Courses taught by WRC personnel are offered through RRT
