The strength of the CSS program at UI is its flexibility, allowing students to concentrate on topics such as natural resource communication; environmental interpretation/education; conservation management, planning and policy; outdoor recreation leadership; sustainable tourism and leisure enterprises; and parks, protected areas and wilderness conservation. Graduates are prepared to begin a career in government resource management agencies, private businesses, and nonprofit organizations, or they may continue with graduate studies at national and international universities. The degree also serves as excellent liberal science, pre-professional training for law or business school.

Master of Natural Resources (MNR): Conservation Social Sciences
Graduate Certificate: Environmental Education
Ph.D.: Natural Resource Sciences - Conservation Social Sciences emphasis
