The Department of Conservation Social Sciences has eleven faculty members. Several have won college and university- wide teaching awards. The Department has an enrollment of approximately 100 undergraduates and 50 graduate students.  Graduates of the program consistently praise the faculty for their knowledge, teaching excellence, accessibility, helpful advising and overall concern for students. CSS classes are famous for their emphasis on discussion and participation.  Hands-on labs and field courses relate classroom theory to actual sites and programs.
