CNR Scholarships and Field Experiences |

Incoming and continuing students majoring in Fisheries, Wildlife, Forest Products, Forest Resources, Ecology and Conservation Biology, Rangeland Ecology and Management, and Conservation Social Sciences (formerly Resource Recreation and Tourism) are automatically considered for all scholarships when enrolled by the priority deadline of Feb. 15 for the fall. Incoming students must apply for admission by the priority deadline of February 15 in order to be automatically considered.
All students are encouraged to indicate their active interest in a scholarship by sending a letter to their department, including career goals and reason for requesting scholarship assistance.
College Wide Scholarships are open to all eligible students (see linked announcements). Successful applicants will be chosen by the CNR Scholarship Committee comprised of CNR department heads.
Field Experience Awards These individual awards will supplement student graduate and undergraduate field research opportunities. Note linked announcements.

Annually sponsors two scholarships to support full time undergraduate and graduate students working toward a degree in aquatic resources or fisheries.

Bleak Taylor Ranch Wilderness Internship |
Wilderness internships are open to all upcoming juniors, seniors, and returning senior-level University of Idaho students. Interns must be resourceful and self-motivated, enjoy physical work, and have enthusiasm for a variety of tasks both at the field station and in the field. Interns must be able to work independently and with others and to deal with isolation from the outside world. |

Awarded to deserving students in Forest Products Business Management or Forest Products Wood Construction and Design. Selected students should show leadership potential and proven scholastic ability. |

Noy E. and Ruby J. Brackett Range Livestock Management Scholarship |
Full time enrollment in the Department of Rangeland Ecology and Management or in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Awarded on a basis of eligibility, career potential and financial need (as determined through a submitted FAFSA form). Preference will be given to students that have demonstrated a strong interest in grazing management and the range livestock industry.

Berklund Undergraduate Research Scholar Award

The Curt and Adele Berklund Undergraduate Research Scholar Award encourages and recognizes undergraduate research in an applied field of natural resources. Berklund awards may be used to fund a variety of faculty-supervised research activities. Students are encouraged to participate in on-going faculty research projects in which the student assists a faculty member or graduate student with research in progress. All enrolled undergraduate students in the College of Natural Resources are eligible to apply for the one-year, $2,000 research awards. |

DeVlieg Undergraduate Research Scholar Award Special Announcement |
The DeVlieg Undergraduate Research Scholar program provides an “inquiry based” learning opportunity at Taylor Ranch Field Station for outstanding undergraduates in natural resources fields. All University of Idaho undergraduate students in the College of Natural Resources and other natural resources fields (except graduating seniors) are eligible to apply. DeVlieg Undergrad Scholars write a scientific proposal of their research, conduct research in the wilderness, and report on results in a written report and oral presentation. |

Purpose is to provide supplemental funding for high-achieving students to pursue a leadership career, participation in seminars, meetings, workshops, or undergraduate research with the need for financial assistance. Involvement in extra-curricular activities in a leadership capacity is a consideration. |
