1. Non-Idaho Resident UndergraduateTuition & Fees $14,712 = $4,632 Fees + $10,080. Non-Idaho Resident Graduate Tuition & Fees $15,292 = $5,212 Fees + $10,080.
Non-Idaho Resident Law Tuition & Fees $20,962 = $10,882 Fees + $10,080. WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) recipients pay $6,948 = 150% of the $4,632 Fees which is a $7,764 savings in tuition.
2. Room and Board costs vary; the figures listed above reflect average costs of living expenses on or off campus. Students who live with their parents, non-traditional students or students who have their children living with them receive different budgets. Other than these situations, a student's living arrangement does not affect the budget used by Student Financial Aid Services.
3. Book costs are based on an average for a full load of courses for one academic year. The average cost may vary from one year to the next. This also includes an average cost for course related supplies.
4. Miscellaneous and Personal includes items such as clothing, health insurance, special course fees, personal care products, laundry, etc.
Fees and tuition are to be paid as part of registration to the university twice a year, once for fall and again for spring. Books and supplies are purchased by the student at the UI Bookstore or elsewhere as needed each term. Room and Board (living in a residence hall) may be paid by the student monthly or once a semester to University Residence Housing/University Dining Services. (The Office of University Residences has more information on the various payment plans available.) Rent/Food/Utilities are usually paid monthly or as needed by students to their landlord and utility companies.
Financial aid budgets can not be adjusted to maintain payments on cars, to pay previous debts, to make down payments on any property or vehicle or to support expensive tastes or lifestyles. Elective medical costs, including maternity expenses, will not be funded by financial aid funds.
A student and/or their parents may have changes in their financial situation. Any student or parent may request a re-evaluation of the student's need by submitting a letter of appeal to Student Financial Aid Services, outlining the extenuating circumstances.
