| Maurice Honocker Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award |

Maurice Hornocker, emeritus professor of wildlife resources, recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 9th Mountain Lion Workshop in Sun Valley Idaho.
The award recognizing Hornocker's leadership in mountain lion research was presented on behalf of the following: the cougar research community, including the mountain lion workshop participants, Hornocker's University of Idaho graduate students, Hornocker Wildlife Institute employees, University of Idaho Taylor Ranch Field Station, Idaho Department of Fish & Game, and the DeVlieg Foundation.
Hornocker was the past Leader of the Idaho Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit at Idaho. Wilbur Wiles, Hornocker's research assistant and houndsman, received an Idaho Conservation award. Unique, framed cougar prints with inset descriptions designed by Tom Mansanarez, also were given to Hornocker and Wiles in recognition of their accomplishments. |
