 The Master of Natural Resources degree was originally designed for people desiring to change their career path or to further themselves in their current profession.
If a person would like to have additional education, the lack of a natural resources undergraduate degree is not a problem. A person does need, however, a Bachelor of Arts or Science (B.A. or B.S.) degree.
Courses called "deficiency" courses are required for students, depending on their previous coursework -- but especially for students without a resource management degree. These courses provide preparation for taking upper level and graduate level natural resources classes. Deficiency courses do not count toward the MNR program. In addition, taking these courses before applying to the MNR program does not guarantee admittance. Those courses are identified as:
